The real reason I started this blog is mainly to share the thoughts and opinions that I think of.  Most of the time, they are of a nerdy, geeky persuasion.  The only outlet I have for all these emotions are through my Facebook profile, or most often than not though,  through the people around me like my family, Nicholas, and our friends.   With this blog all I’m going to do is pretty much tell it like it is, and hopefully get a couple of comments, especially on the stuff I like.

First off, we need to define certain terms I will be using sporadically (Thank you Wikipedia):

Nerd: term often bearing a derogatory connotation or stereotype, that refers to a person who passionately pursues intellectual activities, esoteric knowledge, or other obscure interests that are age inappropriate rather than engaging in more social or popular activities. Therefore, a nerd is often excluded from physical activity and considered a loner by peers, or will tend to associate with like-minded people.

Geek:  slang term, noting individuals as “a peculiar or otherwise odd person, especially one who is perceived to be overly obsessed with one or more things including those of intellectuality, electronics, gaming, etc.” Formerly, the term referred to a carnival performer often billed as a wild man whose act usually includes biting the head off a live chicken, bat, snake or bugs.

Cool: adj. cool (comparative cooler, superlative coolest)Having a slightly low  temperature; mildly or pleasantly cold.

1. Of a person, not showing emotion.
2. Unenthusiastic, lukewarm, skeptical.

   His proposals had a cool reception.

3. Of a person, knowing what to do and how to behave in any situation.
4. In fashion.
5. Of an action, all right, acceptable, that does not present a problem.
6. Of a person, not upset by circumstances that might ordinarily be upsetting.

   I’m completely cool about my girlfriend leaving me.

7. Being considered as “popular” by others.

I would describe myself to be all of the above, to a certain degree anyways.  I’ve been a nerd before it was cool, a geek before Geek Chic was the thing to be, and cool since I was born (as per my mom).  I have a penchant for Sci-Fi minutae, stuff that’s remotely brainy, anything that is cool, and habidasheries.  With all of these gifts, I have a duty to share them and teach everyone to be like me, and you know there are only two ways to do this: a vanity video or a blog.  Now if you excuse me, I have to go look up what comperative and superlative mean.  Enjoy, and Welcome to my Blog.
